Breakout Session
Deni Davis
As the wife of an Army officer, Deni Davis spent 22 years moving from place to place, teaching and leading Bible studies in every military chapel the family attended. While she loved her time as a high school special education teacher, her greatest loves have been her wonderful husband Ted, raising her 3 children and leading women to discover and understand scripture.
Deni currently works part time as an administrative assistant at Avenue of Life, a faith-based ministry to the homeless families in Wyandotte County. She also babysits two of her grandchildren when needed. Spending time with Ted, her three grown children, their spouses and her seven grandchildren fills her with great joy in this season of her life.

Jackie Schowengerdt
Jackie is a devoted wife, proud mama, and passionate follower of Christ. Married for 26 years to her husband Cory—a retired Special Forces veteran—she is grateful for a life rooted in faith, perseverance, and service. Together they have raised two children: Loren (22), who is preparing to graduate from the University of Nebraska this May, and Carson (16), a sophomore in high school. Their family also includes two beloved yorkies who keep life lively.
Through the seasons of marriage, motherhood, and military life, she has seen God’s faithfulness firsthand and is deeply committed to sharing biblical truth with authenticity and encouragement. She has a heart for speaking God’s Word, pointing others to Christ, and reminding women and families of the strength, hope, and purpose found in Him.
Jen Ross
In all aspects of my life, I aim to encourage and cultivate lifelong learners who not only excel in their fields but also to lead lives flourishing with the values of integrity, faith and service.
Born in a small college town in Pennsylvania, education has always been a golden thread in my life. Growing up in the southwest in a small family, I learned early on that life can be hard and the value of writing for resiliency. Over 25% of my life has been lived overseas – I love international relations and the pursuit of peace through understanding, travel, and sharing stories. I am a proud military spouse and mom of five – three biological and two AFS exchange students.
As an educator with over 25 years of experience in higher education, I view teaching as both a privilege and a vocation of my life. Earning both an MBA and an MA have given me a strong interdisciplinary perspective, allowing me to blend business strategy with the science of human performance. Whether teaching management or sports-oriented curriculums, I integrate case studies, industry best practices, and student-driven projects to ensure that learners gain skills that are relevant, measurable, and applicable from a Christ-centered perspective.
Equally important is my commitment to the integration of faith and wellness. With over 15 years of experience developing faith-based fitness programs and over 200 hours of diverse fitness certifications, I see physical education as a sacred opportunity to foster stewardship of the body, respect for creation, and spiritual discipline.

Breakout Session
Trisha Gleisberg
Trisha was born and raised in Alabama. She made her way to Kansas by way of her husband's 27-year military career. As a born-again believer in Jesus since the age of 16, Trisha always knew that wherever she and Jim were stationed, it was God-sanctioned. The phrase "bloom where you are planted" became her battle cry as she put her trust in God's plan for her family at each duty station.
God has led Trisha and Jim to churches of several denominations throughout their 55 years of marriage--each one with the intention of having them grow spiritually. in 2009 they started attending the Speedway Campus of Westside Family Church. Ten years ago, they were led to help start Westside Leavenworth. Since both retired in 2015, they were able to dedicate their time and talents to this young church. However, they have reaped far more spiritual benefits from being a part of Westside Leavenworth than they have sown.
One of the greatest areas of spiritual growth for Trisha came when she was encouraged by a fellow Westsider to step out of her comfort zone and minister to others. She became a prayer partner, a Stephen Minister, a co-leader of a women's Life Group, and a co-leader of a couples' Life Group. Trisha will always be grateful for this friend who saw potential in her that she had not seen in herself. God has used these ministries to grow Trisha's faith, humility, and obedience to the God she loves and serves.
