Foster & Adoptive Ministry Update: Wrapping God’s Family Around Foster Families
What an incredible Saturday for our Foster & Adoptive Ministry—and a beautiful picture of what it looks like to wrap God’s family around families.
The day began with connections across our community. Our parent church, Westside Family Church in Lenexa, hosted a DCCCA event where foster families from our church were able to connect, while Joy Meadows celebrated their final Second Saturday of the year. We loved seeing four of our foster and adoptive families participating and building relationships together.
A meaningful highlight of the day was presenting a Big Give check to Justin, with Joy Meadows. This is a tangible reminder of how generosity and partnership come together to support families.
As the afternoon gave way to evening, our focus turned to Parent’s Night Out. Our amazing KiDS team, led by Caroline Webster, prepared to welcome kiddos for a fun and safe night, giving foster parents a much-needed opportunity for rest and renewal during this busy season. This kind of respite care is a powerful example of how the church can step in with practical love.
We are so grateful for every person who serves by saying “yes” to showing up, serving faithfully, and walking alongside one another. Seeing our foster ministry grow is a joy, and it continues to reflect our heart as a church—to wrap God’s family around families and remind them they are not alone.
