If the condemnation and beatings weren’t enough, Jesus continued, carrying His cross on the road to His earthly death. He carried along the cross that was rightfully ours, but he willfully chose to carry it. Jesus, the spotless Lamb of God, carried on His back, the weight of the sins of the world. Sins that include mine and yours. Each of us is part of that cross. Each of our sins built the cross that Jesus would carry.
Read: John 19:16-18
Finally, Pilate handed him over to them to be crucified. So, the soldiers took charge of Jesus. 17 Carrying his own cross, he went out to the place of the Skull (which in Aramaic is called Golgotha). 18 There they crucified him, and with him two others—one on each side and Jesus in the middle.

Question to ponder
How does it affect you to know that the suffering Jesus endured, he endured for you?
Action to take
Grab the cross beam, pick it up, and feel the weight of sin that Jesus carried. Place your thumb on the ink pad and place your thumb print on the cross to represent that Jesus carried His cross for you.
Prayer
The weight of the cross must have been overwhelming. Not just the physical weight but the spiritual weight. Jesus thank you for your willingness to carry this on my behalf. Thank you for not putting it down and walking away from this pain. Thank you for your love that is so deep I can’t even begin to imagine it.
KiDS
Take a stone from the basket and place it in their bag. Remind them that Jesus carried their sins and He will continue to love them even when they sin again.
